I was born in Birmingham, Alabama, and educated in the Birmingham Public School System. Upon graduation from George Washington Carver High School, I began my college studies at Lawson State Junior College.

In 1984, I relocated to Huntsville, Alabama.

My 30-year career began in 1986 at Redstone Federal Credit Union in the Accounting Department. There I specialized in Payroll and Subsidiary Records. While I was at Redstone, I also continued my studies at Calhoun Community College, concentrating on accounting. During that time, I also became a Certified Payroll Professional CPP. I retired from Redstone Federal Credit Union in 2016.

I have been a disciple of the First Missionary Baptist Church for approximately 35 years, where I serve as secretary of the Senior Usher’s Ministry and Lay Ministry. I also assist with leading the Women’s Sunday School class.

I am the proud mother of one daughter, Jaimese, and one son, Nicholas. I have one granddaughter and four grandsons.

My son, Nicholas, was among the first fifth-grade graduating class from the First Missionary Baptist Church Child Development Center.
