Hello, my name is Karen Howard.  I received Jesus as Lord and Savior of my life at the tender age of six years old.  I grew up in a Christian household. We always attended church and participated in church activities.  I am so excited about teaching in a Christian school.  I am ecstatic about the fact that I can share Christ with my students.   I have a particularly important job because I get to help them establish a foundation in Jesus for their lives.  I am originally from North Carolina.  I meet my husband at a HBCU, Winston-Salem State University. We got married while still attending school, afterwards, my husband joined the Army.  We had two sons.  We went on to spend twenty-eight years traveling within and outside of the United States.  I have taught in eleven different school systems and one in Germany. 
I have a Master’s degree in Education.  I have been working in the field of education for thirty years.  God has so richly blessed my career.  I have held several positions:  teacher, Training & Curriculum Specialist, School-Age- Services Coordinator, Youth & Teen Director, Child Development Director, Interventionist, and reading coach.  
I am looking forward to a great year!  It is my honor and privilege to be apart of your scholar’s lives.  I have great plans for my students.  There are so many great things I plan to accomplish this year.
