Tammy Range Alexander, PhD – Interim Head of School
My name is Tammy Range Alexander, and it is my great delight to serve as the Interim Head of School during the 2020- 2021 school year. I have been in education for 30 years serving in a variety of roles- teacher, facilitator, and consultant. I worked as an elementary teacher and a university faculty member. I recently retired as the director of the AAMU/UAH Regional Inservice Center and as an adjunct professor at Alabama Agricultural and Mechanical University.
I am a member of First Missionary Baptist Church where I serve as one of the coordinators for Children's Church and I am one of the teachers for the 4th and 5th grade Sunday School class.
When I am not hanging out at JRS CDCA, I enjoy traveling, spending time with my family and friends and writing. I am an author for the National Baptist USA Incorporated Sunday School Publishing Board writing lessons for Middle Grades and Upper Elementary Grades.
My favorite bible story is found in Daniel 3. It’s the story of Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego. Their faith is amazing! Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego replied to him, “King Nebuchadnezzar, we do not need to defend ourselves before you in this matter. 17 If we are thrown into the blazing furnace, the God we serve is able to deliver us from it, and he will deliver us from Your Majesty’s hand. 18 But even if he does not, we want you to know, Your Majesty, that we will not serve your gods or worship the image of gold you have set up.”
I am married to Reverend Willie Alexander and we have three grown children, Amara, Micah and Seth and one grandson, Zion.
